When moving to The Netherlands you do not have to pay bpm (= tax on motorized vehicles) on your car or motorcycle. However, there are some preconditions: 

• The motorized vehicle is part of the content of your removable goods.
• The use of the motorized vehicle is intended to be private and not commercial.
• The motorized vehicle was purchased and used at least 6 months before your move to The Netherlands.
• You were not an expat in The Netherlands 12 months before your current move to The Netherlands.

Keep in mind! You cannot sell, lend, or rent out your motorized vehicle within 12 months.

The Customs' website has more information. The website enables you to request the exemption. It needs to be requested within 12 months of your move.
