Counterfeit products

In The Netherlands it is forbidden to bring or import counterfeit products into the country. Dutch customs will confiscate these products. You will have to pay a penalty.

Weapons and ammunition

Because fire arms and ammunition are prohibited in The Netherlandsit is forbidden to bring weapons and ammunition into the country.

The Weapon and Ammunition Act covers:

  • fire arms
  • gas pistols
  • toy weapons that look just like real ones
  • ammunition
  • alarm pistols
  • strike, thrust or stabbing weapons (for example, knives, knuckle dusters, swords etc.)
  • peppersprays

If you posses wapens used for hunting or shooting you will need a Dutch permit to bring them along with you.

Items of cultural worth

When bringing art and antiques into The Netherlands you require an export licence issued by the authorities of your country. Certified antiques dealers may be able to help you with this. Culture goods may not be brought and imported into The Netherlands without the export licence.
